The causes behind these changes are also explained. This 2024 edition focuses on several striking and recent developments. In forests, the large differences between the trends of breeding birds of deciduous or coniferous trees stand out. Not only is suitable habitat important, but weather conditions also play a role. For example, heavy spring rainfall affected the breeding performance of several species.
