Voorkomen
Herkomstgebied Oost-Azië. Er zijn enkele broedgevallen bekend van ontsnapte kooivogels, zoals bij Eijsden (1999) en het Naardermeer (2000). Broedgevallen lijken echter uitzonderingen te blijven en van toename is geen sprake.

The Chinese Grosbeak is an exotic species and therefore falls outside Article 1 of the Birds Directive, which relates to all natural wild bird species on the European territory of the EU Member States. The Chinese Grosbeak is therefore not protected under the Nature Conservation Act.
